Who I Am

My name is Holly Lumanauw. I started my healing journey in 2022 after leaving my 30 year career as a social worker. I was sick from the stress and trauma that came from my job, and how my body was responding to it. When I went to the doctor seeking treatment for multiple symptoms I was informed that I had PTSD and that my pain was not from injuries, rather it was from my psychological state. I was in complete denial about it, I mean, I have a degree in counseling and had been a professional for years! After going to therapy I discovered that I still felt terrible all of the time and could not get my body to cooperate and relax to get out of fight, flight, or freeze. I was off work but still felt stressed out all of the time. I started trying other things and discovered through biofeedback, chronic pain management groups, yoga, breathe work, and meditation, that I had much more success with breaking out of stress and trauma patterns when I engaged in physical activities (somatic practices). I believe that through providing education about how the mind and body connect to keep us in unhealthy patterns, and offering options to regain control of and change these patterns, I can help others to find relief, mentally and physically, from chronic stress, chronic pain, trauma and anxiety.
